Motor Vehicles Administration is making some changes for security reasons to the Maryland driver's license design, which will become one of the most secure in the nation. After July, drivers will no longer receive the new card in person at the MVA facility. MVA will begin printing and mailing the new secure cards on June 20 for all learner's permits and new ID cards, and for licenses/ID cards renewed via web, kiosk and U.S. mail. Since the new cards will be mailed, it is important that the license show the correct residential address. If there is a need to update your address, go to mva.maryland.gov.
