During the month of July, Sapphire Restaurant and Lounge, 13308 Laurel Bowie Road, is celebrating 20 years in Laurel. On Saturday, Aug. 3, the restaurant invites the community to join in its anniversary party from 2 p.m. until closing, with a complimentary cookout from 2 to 6 p.m. Sapphire will offer drink specials, giveaways and prizes. Activities will include corn hole, pool and darts.
Part of the proceeds from the event will benefit Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services, a local charity that helps those in need.
