Laurel churches hold concerts, bazaars, holiday programs

Women of Faith Christmas — Second annual event hosted by Hope Baptist Church, simulcast from Dallas, Texas, Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m., at 8801 Stephens Road. Doors open at 7 p.m. Simulcast includes speakers Sheila Welsh, Lisa Harper, Max Lucado, Rick Warren and music with Francesca Battistelli. Tickets are $5 per person. There in no child care available. Holiday Craft Fair and Winterfest — Presented by the Church of the Resurrection, Friday, Dec. 6, from 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, Greencastle Road and Old Columbia Pike, in Burtonsville. Annual Bazaar — Hosted by First United Methodist Church, Sat., Dec. 7, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Fellowship Hall, 424 Main St. Bazaar items include handmade crafts, Silent Auction, Bake Sale, New to You Table and vendors: Scentsy, Origami Owl, Sweet Minerals, Tastefully Simple, The Pampered Chef, Handmade Jewelry, Hawkeye's Barn Fine Woodworking, 31 Gifts, Organo Gold Coffee and Tea. Christmas Concert — Presented by Music Ministry of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at 7607 Sandy Spring Road. Titled "The Music of Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany: Prepare, Celebrate, and Share," the concert features vocal and instrumental ensembles from the church, performing a variety of music and carols of the season. A candle lighting will be held at the beginning of the program in remembrance of children who have died. An annual event on the second Sunday of December, it is sponsored by the Compassionate Friends Organization. Candles are lit at 6 p.m. all over the world, encircling the earth for 24 hours in this remembrance in light. A reception follows the concert. For information, call 301-725-1666.

Christmas Concert — Our Savior Lutheran Church is presenting its annual Christmas Concert, Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3 and 7 p.m. at 13611 Laurel Bowie Road. Celebrate the season with the church choirs, strings, handbells, Praise Team and sing-along carols. Refreshments and child care are available at both concerts.
