To help parents learn about school resources, and to help students get ready for the new school year, Prince George's County Public Schools will hold its third annual Back to School Fair on Saturday, Aug. 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Showplace Arena, 14900 Pennsylvania Ave., in Upper Marlboro.
Donated backpacks with school supplies such as binders, pencils and pens, glue sticks, notebook paper, rulers and scissors will be given away at the fair. To sponsor a backpack, contact the Office of Business Partnerships at 301-952-6095 or clandis@pgcps.org.
At the fair, parents can meet with representatives from county schools and register their children, learn about before- and after-school programs, join their school's PTA and browse vendor booths.
Individual county schools will have displays and can compete in a display contest.
The first day of school for Prince George's County students is Aug. 19.
