Prince George's County Councilwoman Mary Lehman, whose district includes Laurel, will hold a budget forum to discuss County Executive Rushern Baker III's proposed fiscal year 2016 operating budget on Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m. at Martin Luther King Middle School, 4545 Ammendale Road, Beltsville.
Baker's budget proposal includes an aggressive plan to increase spending on education and public safety by increasing tax revenues, among other measures. The county's property tax rate has not seen an increase in more than 30 years.
The forum will include county CFO Thomas Himler and Board of Education Chairman Segun Eubanks.
