The Laurel Police Department is going pink in October for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in an effort to raise awareness of the disease and to support those who are affected by breast cancer, according to city officials.
This year, the Laurel Department of Public Works has created a specially marked police cruiser, adorned with pink "ribbon" stickers and lettering.
The department has issued pink T-shirts and pink badges that officers can wear as part of their official uniform during October. Officers can also wear a pink ribbon lapel pin on their uniforms and tie pink ribbons onto their cruiser antennas.
