City offers free entry to Laurel fitness centers for furloughed government workers

As the government shutdown moves into Day 4, Laurel city officials are offering free admission to city fitness centers for city residents who are furloughed government employees.

The city's fitness rooms and drop-in gyms are located at the Robert J. DiPietro Community Center, 7901 Cypress St., and the Laurel Armory Anderson-Murphy Community Center, Fifth and Montgomery streets.

Proof of residency and a federal employee I.D are required for free admission.
