Man, two children injured when struck by car in Laurel

Three pedestrians, including two children, were struck be a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Laurel, Howard County police reported.

According to police, Woo Sick Hong, 70, was walking along Boulder Ridge Road with two children who were riding small scooters at approximately 6:45 PM.

Hong and the children were struck by a 2009 Prius being driven by Douglas Scott David, 49, of Boulder Ridge Road, police said

According to the preliminary police investigation, Hong and the children were walking in the travel portion of the road when the accident occurred.

Hong was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore and is listed in serious but stable condition. The children were taken to Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore; one child is listed in stable condition, and the other is listed in serious but stable condition.

David, who was not injured, remained at the scene of the accident, police said.
