The Laurel jazz festivals, held at Laurel Race Course in 1967, 1968 and 1969, attracted big-name bands including Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Etta Jones, Woody Herman and his Big Band, Thelonious Monk, Gloria Lynne and Herbie Mann Octet.
