Laurel Public Works to offer electronics recycling

The Laurel Department of Public Works is offering free electronics recycling to city residents and businesses in recognition of America Recycles Day, which is Nov. 15.

Electronics, household batteries and CFL/fluorescent bulbs can be dropped off for recycling from Tuesday, Nov. 12 through Friday, Nov. 15, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, at the Public Works Facility, 305-307 First St.

City residents must show a proof of residency and businesses must be able to confirm their location withing the city. To confirm an address is within the city, contact Public Works at 301-725-0088.

Recyclable items include computer monitors and CPUs; CD, DVD and VCR players; radios; printers; keyboards; and televisions. The electronic recycling is a partnership between the city and Unicor Recycling Business Group.
