Laurel Police to perch on Dunkin Donuts' roof

Officers from the Laurel Police Department will spend 31 hours on the roof of the Dunkin Donuts this weekend as a fundraiser for Maryland Special Olympics.

Just one of the events Laurel Police hold each year to support Maryland Special Olympics, Cops on the Rooftop begins Saturday, Aug. 20 at 6 a.m. when uniformed Laurel Police officers take to the roof of Dunkin Donuts at 14903 Baltimore Ave., across from Laurel Shopping Center.

The officers plan to eat, sleep and even dance on the roof until 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21. During the 31 hours the officers are on the roof, donations for Maryland Special Olympics will be collected and several fund-raising raffles will be held.

There will also be entertainment, including a DJ and a moon bounce, and those making donations will receive coupons for purchases at Dunkin Donuts.
