Don't miss the Back to School Summer Jam, Saturday, Aug. 24, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Granville Gude Park's Bobby Burton Stage, 8300 Mulberry St. The event includes free school supplies, live bands and a DJ.
Mayor Craig Moe and the Laurel City Council join the Laurel Board of Trade, 98.6 Sound and WISE (Winning in Sports and Education) in sponsoring this event to give area students a jump start to the school year. The school supplies giveaway is for city of Laurel residents on a first come, first served basis. Students must be present, accompanied by a parent or guardian and present either a school ID or report card to receive school supplies.
Bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy an afternoon of music, community spirit and fun.
