Savage Community Association wants you to pitch in [North Laurel/Savage]

We live in a great area. The people are amazing, the community has some wonderful events but this does not just happen. People volunteering is how events happen. Have you thought about getting more involved in the community?

The Savage Community Association is looking for people to step up to help run their organization. Did you enjoy the SavageFest? The Ice Cream Social or Tree Lighting? All this takes community members to get involved. Without you, they will not continue.

The First Baptist Church of Savage will hold a Live Nativity at the Baldwin Commons on Dec. 19 and 20, 6 to 8 p.m. There is no charge for this event. There will be music and live animals as they re-create the birth of Jesus.

This is the time of year many are planning vacations. Make sure you secure your home. Have a trusted neighbor watch it for you. They can put out your trash and pick up newspapers. There are many delivery trucks in the neighborhood but this makes it very convenient for thieves so make sure your neighbors know if you are getting a delivery so that they can spot a truck that does not belong. Make sure all doors and windows are locked and that you have lights on at night. Do not let someone spoil your holidays.
