Who loved the movie "Drumline"? Come see a real live version when Reservoir High School's Music Department hosts Music In Motion on Oct. 26.
This competition will have schools from around the area compete with their marching band programs. Each band has its own theme and the RHS theme is American Celebration. Judges will score them based on difficulty, quality of program and skill. It is such a fun event.
Tickets will be sold at the door for $10 for adults, $5 for kids with 6 and under free. The competition will start at 6 p.m. so put this as a must-do event on your calendar and come out and enjoy the show.

Atholton High School's Drama Department presentation of "Snow Angel" will be Oct. 18 through 25. Show times are Oct. 18, 19, 22 through 25 at 7 p.m., Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. and Oct. 21 at 12:30 pm. The performance will be in room B-120 and cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
The North Laurel 50+ Center is always looking for new members. Come out and learn all the center has offer. This month they will be holding a Cookbook and Bake Sale on Oct. 25, 10 a.m. to noon. On Oct. 30, the center will hold a Show of Music Legends and lunch. For information or to register call them at 410-313-0380.
Do you need help raking your leaves? Hammond High School's Boy Soccer Team would love to help. They are offering their services as a fundraiser on Nov. 16 and 23. The leaf raking is free but tips are welcome and based on the quality of work.
Remember that this is a fundraiser and the boys will work hard for their team. The money all goes to help them buy uniforms, warm ups, practice goals and other equipment. This is the last week to drop off winter clothing at Fulton Elementary. New and gently used coats, hats and gloves are being collected to help those in need in Howard County. There is a drop off box in the main lobby.
The drive is sponsored by the PTA Council and Pupil Personnel Workers of Howard County. The coats will be distributed at the North Laurel Community Center, as well as other locations on Nov. 2, 9 to 11 a.m.
