College information night slated at Reservoir High [North Laurel/Savage]

Reservoir High School will have a college information night on Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. This is an excellent program to help parents and students understand the college application process.

First, it will provide an overview and then break up into three 25-minute sessions. You can choose which of the following you want to attend — Navigating the College Search Process, Understanding Financial Aid, Completing a College Application, NCAA Eligibility and Recruiting, the Benefits of Attending a two-year college and Standardized Testing, PSAT, SAT and ACT.


This program is great for parents of and students in grades nine through 11.

It is never too early to start thinking about spring and your gardens. What can you do with a shaded area in your yard? Master Gardener Pat Greenwald will present Color in the Shade at the Savage Library on Feb. 4 starting at 7 p.m.

Fulton Elementary will be holding its annual International Night for the community on Feb. 20 starting at 6:30 p.m. This is a great way to celebrate the diversity of our community with crafts, food, games and entertainment.

Now is the time to sign up for the 50+ Center's February activities. The Talkin' Broadway Series is Feb. 9 about Tin Pan Alley 1927 to 1939, How the American Songbook was integrated into Broadway at 1 p.m. Motown Memories will be on Feb. 13 starting at 11 a.m. Relax to the sound of Motown before a Valentine's Day lunch. Cost is $3 plus a donation for lunch.

Feb. 18 will be Travel Talk with Rick: Fjords of the World starting at 11 a.m.

A free computer and Device Workshop will be held on Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. at the 50+ Center. Intermediate Zentangle will be held for those who took the beginning class on Tuesdays start Feb. 24 at 12:30 p.m. Cost is $32 for materials for four classes.

Black History Month Celebration will be Feb. 27 starting at 11 a.m. Cost is $3 plus a lunch donation. There will be a vocal performance by Julie Hall. All programs need pre-registration by calling 410-313-0380.
