On Thursday, I read "Democrats' site hits Kittleman's record on education," detailing Team Howard Slate's attempt to discredit the candidate for county executive.
On Friday, I received a glossy mailer with the photo of an "Independent" woman complaining that Kittleman has a "Republican" record — obviously making him a failure when it comes to teacher support, abortion and gun rights.
On Saturday, I received another glossy mailer with a "Republican" woman headlining Kittleman's vote on assault weapons then repeating everything else from the previous day's mailer.
When the Board of Elections reopens, I will change my party affiliation. I do not want to be affiliated in any way with this type of negative, distorted, formulaic Democrat gutter politics.
The mailers and website insult the intelligence of women, clearly the target audience for this smear campaign. Thinking women know that abortion and gun rights are not the purview of a county executive. Thinking women don't fall for the "make them fearful" tactic. Thinking women are more concerned with the results of runaway development: school overcrowding, a lack of adequate public facilities, destruction of forests and the watershed, a decline in the quality of life.
Thinking women know that a more transparent and responsive government can only be achieved by ridding ourselves of the incumbent candidates funding Team Howard Slate! (Courtney Watson, Calvin Ball, Guy Guzzone, Anthony Brown and Ken Ulman) hiding as a "team" that has underestimated the public's discontent.
