Two Washington men charged in armed robbery at North Laurel hotel
Two Washington men have been charged in connection with an armed robbery and assault at a Days Inn Hotel in North Laurel this week, Howard County police said Friday.
Thomas Dwayne Brumfield, 37, and Lorenzo Alexander Moore II, 35, were each charged with armed robbery, robbery, home invasion, first- and second-degree assault, false imprisonment, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and two counts of theft.
At 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the Days Inn, located in the 9800 block of Washington Boulevard, for a report of armed robbery, police said.
Police said a woman had arranged an in-person meeting with an online acquaintance when two men showed up at her door. Police said they pushed their way into her hotel room and knocked her to the floor.
Police said one man tied her up while the other held her at gunpoint.
Cash and other personal items were stolen, police said.

Police said investigators identified Brumfield and Moore as suspects. Brumfield was arrested on Wednesday at a Capitol Heights Motel without incident, police said.
Brumfield is being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $500,000 bond.

Moore was arrested by Metropolitan police in Washington in a separate case on Thursday. Howard police have issued an arrest warrant for Moore based on charges in this case, and he is pending extradition, police said.
