Anne Arundel police seek help in identifying suspect in Laurel carjacking

Anne Arundel County police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a carjacking in Laurel early Sunday morning, the department said Monday.

Police said officers were called to the Royal Farms at 3470 Laurel Fort Meade Road around 4 a.m. for a report of an armed carjacking.

Police said a 44-year-old man was exiting the store when he was approached by another man who displayed a handgun and demanded the man’s vehicle. The man complied, according to police, and the suspect fled west on Laurel Fort Meade Road in a blue 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe with Virginia registration plates. No injuries were reported.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle or the suspect, police said.
