Laurel police seek help in identifying suspect in armored vehicle robbery

Laurel police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in the armed robbery of an armored vehicle in Laurel on Monday afternoon, the department said Tuesday.

Police said officers were called to the 7100 block of Virginia Manor Court around 12:10 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery and shooting where a security service delivery driver told police a man had robbed him and shot at him.

Police said the man, armed with a handgun, approached the driver, disarmed him and demanded the cash deposit bag the driver was holding. The driver complied and the man fired one shot at him before fleeing, according to police. The driver was not injured.

Laurel police said the man was driving a black, two-door Honda Accord with a rear spoiler and Maryland flag registration plates.
