Wilde Lake senior Matt Johnson struck out eight in the complete game victory. Senior Devin Shields led the way on offense with two singles, a stolen base and an RBI. Eli Fisher reached base three times and scored the tying run in the sixth inning. Sophomore Grant Gladden scored a run and drove in the game-winning run for the Wildecats.

Jack Pistner took the loss the Eagles. He lasted two innings, allowing one hit and two runs while walking zero. Liam Wood started the game and surrendered one run on five hits over four innings, striking out five. Zach Steen went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Ryan Lee allowed one unearned run and one hit and struck out four in four inning to lead the Mustangs. Justin Woodbury had three hits, two runs and an RBI and Cooper Stepke went 2-3 with two RBIs. Josh Olsufka had three RBIs and TJ Delmonte had two.

Tad Henley had the lone hit for the Gladiators.

The Scorpions took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and held that advantage until the bottom of the fourth when the Lightning picked up a run. Long Reach starting pitcher Andy Lotz lined a single down the left field line scoring Alex King to tie the game. Both teams scored three runs in the fifth inning and it remained 4-4 until the top of the seventh. Walks to Kyle Kirby, Ryan Looper and Andrew Kell loaded the bases for Scorpions. Senior Ben Looper came through with a two-RBI single to give Oakland Mills the lead. Another insurance run scored on a fielder’s choice. Ryan Looper was then able to shut down Long Reach in order in the bottom of the seventh to earn the victory.

From the leadoff spot, Ryan Looper scored three runs and had a double and Ben Looper went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in addition to giving the Scorpions a solid start on the mound. Sophomore Andrew Kell also had three RBIs and scored two runs. Oakland Mills won for the eighth time this season, marking the most victories the program has had since 2013.

The Golden Bears stayed alone in first place with the four-run victory, halting the Gators’ three-game winning streak in the process. A six-run fifth inning gave Hammond the lead for good.

Taylor Liguori (1-1, home run, 2 RBI, 2 runs) and Abbie Weirich (2-4, 2 runs) led the offensive effort for Hammond, which got at least one hit from eight different players. Emma Richmond, Desi Hatzakos and Kylee Gunkel all had multiple hits for Reservoir.

The Lions scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to provide the separation needed to hold off the visiting Vikings. Sophie Morton (3-4, home run, double, 4 RBI, 2 runs) and Julia Colton (3-4, triple, 3 RBI, 3 runs) led the offense for Howard, while Lindsey Smith, Paige Eakes, Emily Polimeni and Mary Wagenblast all added multiple hits.

Kieran Davis (4-4, 5 RBI) led the way for Mt. Hebron in the loss.

Brooke Gettier gave up just two hits and two walks over five innings, striking out six along the way. The Hawks scored 11 times and sent 15 batters to the plate in the third inning to break the game open.

Gettier, Ever Sheplee and Jenna Kenyon (2-2) each had doubles.

Colleen Simmerly had a double for one of the Raiders two hits.

A 3-run home run by Megan Hughes (2-4, double, 4 RBI) was part of a four-run bottom of the sixth inning for the Mustangs to take the one-run victory. Grace Tolle (3-4) and Molly Nies (2-3, home run, 2 RBI, 2 runs) also had big efforts for Marriotts Ridge.

Sage Huber (3-3, 2 runs) was the offensive leader in the loss for Glenelg.

Jordan Hinz pitched a seven-inning shutout, allowing just four hits and striking out five. She was supported by a defense that committed no errors.

Erin McGuire (2-4) and Sara Phelps (3-3) each had triples to lead the Centennial offense. Hinz (2-4, 2 RBI) and Augusta Ruckdeschel (3-4, 2 RBI) were strong as well offensively for the Eagles.

Rachel Van Osdel (2-3) accounted for half of Wilde Lake’s hits. Veronica Goode added a double.

Several Lightning batters had big days on the way to the convincing win over the Scorpions. Hailey Ramburg hit a grand slam, Haley Thompson had a double, Sayla Phillips went 1-2 with 4 RBI, and Brittney Dix went 2-2 with 4 runs scored.

Tmya Bydume went 2-2 to lead the way for the Scorpions.
