Conarie Steinbach allowed just one hit and one run and struck out eight over five innings to lead the Eagles victory. Ryan Cavey went 2-3 and John Pistner, Chris Betler (RBI), Zach Steen (RBI) and Charlie Schmidt (RBI) also had hits.

Anthony Kline had the only hit for the Golden Bears and Tim Stryker allowed four runs and four hits in three innings.

Devine started and went 3.2 inning, Marcelli got the win in relief and Bernard pitched a scoreless seventh. The Hawks put four on the board in the top of the first inning and never slowed down on the way to the five-inning victory. Ella Wood made her first varsity start and struck out five, walked two and allowed just six hits.

Jenna Kenyon went 4-4 with a double to lead the offense, while Quinn Kindbom was the leader defensively. During the first inning, Sara Emig tripled in two runs and she ended up as one of four River Hill players with multiple hits. Kenyon, Ever Sheplee and Brooke Gettier were the others.

For Glenelg, Molly Dustin was the leader with a 2-2 day that included a homerun.

The Vikings improved to 2-0 in county play, led by a strong complete-game pitching effort by freshman Emma Behel (10 strikeouts and 3 hits allowed). She also added a 1-2 day at the plate.

Other offensive standouts for Mt. Hebron were Kieran Davis (2-3, double, 2 RBI, run) and Bri Hoskinson (2-3, run).

Freshman Veronica Goode pitched a complete game for Wilde Lake, striking out five. She also went 1-3 with a double at the plate. Morgan Baird, Izzy Cruz and Brooke Webster accounted for the Wildecats other hits.

Angelina Tyler pitched a one-hit shutout and the Lions’ offense scored seven runs in the fourth inning to help pull away for the five-inning win. Tyler struck out eight and picked up her first win of the season.

Offensively, Lindsey Smith led the Lions with three hits. Sophie Morton and Becky Merson added multiple hits as well.
