Reservoir field hockey rises to the occasion, earns overtime win over Atholton

Sixty minutes wasn't enough — and 70 minutes was inadequate as well.

Atholton and Reservoir played nearly 75 minutes of field hockey Friday afternoon before determining a winner.

Jillian Weinman's goal in the second sudden-victory overtime period sent her Reservoir teammates and her coaches leaping for joy.

The Gators hadn't beaten Atholton since 2009. Including playoffs, it was an eight-game losing streak.

"This is what I have been trying to get them to do for seven years," said Reservoir coach Lindsay Beil.
