Relive Glenelg girls lacrosse 3A/2A state championship season

After an 11-3 regular season, the Glenelg girls lacrosse team played at its pinnacle during its postseason run. The Gladiators avenged early-season losses against Mt. Hebron and Marriotts Ridge, defeating the Vikings 15-3 in the second round and then knocking off the Mustangs, 11-7, in the 3A South Section I final. Glenelg followed up the two emotional wins over its rivals by defeating Atholton, 10-8, to win its first region title since 2008. The team's state semifinal and state final performances were even more impressive, as the Gladiators rolled through two more wins against C.M Wright (15-3) and then Oakdale (14-1) to clinch a 3A/2A state title — the program's first since 2008.
