Oakland Mills (4-7 county, 7-15 overall – No. 4 seed Section II 2A West Region)

Worst Case: The team’s inability to play well in back-to-back games for pretty much the entire season — only winning two games in a row once — turns out to be a bad omen considering the win over Marriotts Ridge to close the regular season. Drawing the Mustangs again in the opening round, this time the result goes the other way. The Mustangs play a box-and-one on Jordan Hopkins, who averaged 26.5 points a game in the two meetings between the teams in the regular season, and hold him to single digits. The rest of Oakland Mills’ supporting case does their best to step up, but it’s not enough. The seven wins ends up being the lowest total for the team since the 2007-08 campaign.
