With the regular season entering the home stretch, Mt. Hebron moved one step closer to securing its second straight county title on Tuesday.
The Vikings (7-1) earned a 4-0 home victory over Marriotts Ridge, the team's seventh straight win, to maintain a game and a half lead over River Hill (5-2-1) with three games left on the schedule. The four-goal winning margin is the largest of the season for Mt. Hebron.
Johnny Linsenmeyer paced the offense against the Mustangs, scoring twice. Vince Broccolino and Cameron Bergreen also added goals.
Assists were provided by Trevor Namie and Jared Simowitz.
Mt. Hebron will be back in action with a huge road game against Hammond (5-3, 6-5) on Thursday.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first half on a free kick goal by the Golden Bears' Anthony Perez, the Gators regrouped to scored twice in the second half and earn the victory. Debruyn Cedeno scored both goals, one off a rebound from a Dutch Schulden free kick and the second courtesy of a great one-on-one effort. On the game-winning score he dribbled past several defenders before beating the goalie.
