What we learned: With the rain the past week it canceled all of the Thursday, Sept. 29 games – except for Chapelgate, who clinched its second win of the season after the, 2-0, victory over Oldfields. The shortened week brought a fewer slate of games, but the results didn't disappoint. Centennial, Reservoir, River Hill, Howard and Atholton are currently in the county championship hunt, with the Gators, Eagles and Hawks looking particularly well as of late. The Lions have been steady, and earned their first convincing win on Oct. 4, defeating Glenelg, 3-1. The Raiders took their first county loss of the season against the Hawks, but even still, continue to be at the forefront… Hammond is starting to get healthy and has the potential to ruin a lot of team's seasons as October gets rolling. The Golden Bears picked up their first two county wins in their last three games. Meanwhile Wilde Lake is starting to build up confidence, as the defending county champs picked up two wins in as many games – granted Long Reach and Oakland Mills (the two teams they have defeated) have zero combined wins, but the Wildecats looked impressive scoring 11 goals in those contests.
