Four first-half goals propelled Glenelg to a 6-0 victory over River Hill in the Class 2A East Region final Wednesday evening.

Leanne Duncan and Gabby Rachuba each had a pair of goals for the Gladiators. Rachuba also had an assist, as Glenelg won its 18th regional field hockey title.

River Hill finishes it season 12-7; Glenelg upped its record to 16-0.

Glenelg will play Hereford in the 2A state semifinals Monday, Nov. 7 at 5 or 7 p.m. at Paint Branch High School.

Glenelg field hockey completes season sweep of Marriotts Ridge with 2-0 victory in region semifinals

Hereford, the 2A North champion, is a Baltimore County school with a field hockey pedigree similar to Glenelg's.

Manchester Valley and Kent Island are the two other remaining teams in the Class 2A state tournament.

Glenelg 6, River Hill 0

Halftime: Glenelg, 4-0.

Class 3A

Chesapeake-AA ended Mt. Hebron's playoff run with a 2-0 victory in the 3A East Region final.

Mt. Hebron ends its season 9-9.

Mt. Hebron field hockey beats Centennial field hockey in Howard County 3A East regional playoff game.
