Sitting at 12-2 in league play and 16-2 overall, Atholton has by far the best chance to secure the 2018-19 Howard County boys basketball county title.
But right behind the Raiders are Wilde Lake and Oakland Mills, and both teams kept their hopes of winning a county title alive with victories Tuesday night. The Wildecats, which will play Atholton on Friday night, pulled out a one-point win over Glenelg to improve to 11-3 in the league. Oakland Mills, meanwhile, finished out the county schedule with a blowout win over Long Reach. The Scorpions currently sit in third place with a 12-4 league mark.
