A light Howard County boys basketball slate on Wednesday night still produced some notable results.
For one, Reservoir moved into fourth place in the county standings with a tight victory at Centennial. Plus, Marriotts Ridge snapped its recent slide with a big-time offensive effort from a player not necessarily known for his scoring.
See below for recaps and box scores from those games:
Playing without starting guards Cam Heard and Amari Little, Marriotts Ridge snapped its three-game county losing streak with a home victory over Hammond on Wednesday night.
Shouldering the scoring load for the Mustangs were senior forwards Josh Olsufka, who exploded for a season-high 21 points, and Brandon Held, who chipped in 18 points to continue his stretch of solid offensive performances.
While Centennial’s Stafford Smith (25 points) and Joey Sedlacko (15 points) were the game’s highest scorers, Reservoir’s put forth a balanced offensive attack in its two-point victory on Wednesday night.
Each contributing in their own way, brothers Chase, Cole and Justin Paar have all been integral parts of the Glenelg Country boys basketball program this winter. Chase and Cole star on the court, while Justin provides sideline support for a Dragons' team that is excelling in the MIAA A Conference.
