Centennial golf makes early statement with dominant tri-match sweep

Behind an effort that saw all four of its players score 23 or more points, Centennial cruised to a tri-match sweep of Howard and Atholton on Thursday at the Timbers at Troy.

The Eagles scored 93 points, easily outpacing both the Lions (71) and Raiders (67). Ty Sams led the way for Centennial with a three-over-par round of 24 points, while his teammates Conarie Steinbach, Dustin Stocksdale and Klaus Wood were right behind him with scores of 23 points each.

Centennial improves to 3-0 on the season.

Atholton senior Branden Nguyen led all individuals with a one-over-par round of 26 points. He made six pars to go along with a birdie on the fourth and bogeys on the first and eighth holes.
