Howard County sports reporters Monica D'Ippolito, Brent Kennedy and Tim Schwartz recap the week that was and the week ahead for Howard County high school athletics.

In the intro, Brent talks about Oakland Mills baseball winning its second straight game after ending a 43-game losing skid and where the rest of the county baseball landscape is midway through the season.

Tim talks about Mt. Hebron’s five-overtime victory over Glenelg in boys lacrosse on Friday and names his player of the week – Vikings goalie Casey DuBois – at the 3:00 mark. He also says why you should keep an eye on Howard and River Hill in the next week or two and how their schedule heats up at the 8:00 mark.

Monica talks about Mt. Hebron beating Glenelg in overtime in the girls lacrosse game at the 10:19 mark and her top performers of the week – the Vikings’ Sorana Larson, Glenelg’s Courtney Renehan, Oakland Mills’ Morgan Carroll and Hannah Smelkinson – at the 11:56 mark. She also talks about Oakland Mills earning its first win since 2014 after beating Lansdowne on Monday at the 13:46 mark.

Brent discusses his softball players of the week – Howard’s Shanya Gordon and Marriotts Ridge’s Mikayla Barnard – at the 16:28 mark; Howard separating itself with an undefeated county record and a two-game lead on the field at the 18:51 mark; and how the rest of the county softball scene is tightly packed with seven teams between 4-4 and 6-2 at the 20:45 mark.
