The Howard County Public School System is looking for residents to serve on the academic calendar planning committee and the Fine Arts Advisory Council for the 2014-15 year.
For the calendar committee, application deadline is Friday, Sept. 6. Members will be asked to attend up to eight meetings in September, October and November to discuss and make recommendations for the next academic calendar.
Applications are available at hcpss.org, and can be filled out, saved and emailed to Linda Long at linda_long@hcpss.org, or printed out and mailed to Long at HCPSS, Public Information Office, 10910 Route 108, Ellicott City, 21042.
The system's Fine Arts Advisory Council is having a meeting Monday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Department of Education building on Route 108 in Ellicott City.
The council is looking for members who have a passion for theater, dance, music or the visual arts. No experience or background in the arts is necessary.
