Making up a rained out game from earlier this season, River Hill suffered its first loss of the spring on Thursday.

Severna Park (3-1) scored in the top of the seventh inning to break a tie game and that ended up being the difference in a 5-4 victory over the Hawks.

Cat Ramagnano provided some punch with a home run to spearhead the Falcons' offense, while her teammate Grace Logan added a pair of doubles. It was Logan that provided the game-winning hit with her second double of the day to score Nikki Burke in the seventh.

River Hill (3-1) had plenty of highlights of its own, even in defeat. Hannah Brown not only collected her first hit of the season, but it was a home run. Kinsey Johnson continued her hot start this spring with a 2-4 day with a homerun and 2 RBI. Johnson now has four home runs in four games.

Courtney Colosimo and Kallan Dirmeyer each added a pair of hits as well. Colosimo had two singles, scored once and had one stolen base, while Dirmeyer — player her first game of the season — went 2-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.

Defensively, River Hill had no errors and had a highlight reel double play in the fifth inning to help halt a Severna Park rally at the time.

Kristy Selby pitched the first five innings, giving up eight hits and striking out two. Sabrina Curtiss then came in for relief in the 6th and gave up two hits and struck out two.

River Hill will return to action on Monday at the District V Spring Break Tournament. The Hawks will play Northeast at 9 a.m. and then against Chesapeake-AA at 1 p.m. at the Bachman Sports Complex.
