After several off-days due to soggy fields, Howard County baseball got back underway on Thursday, with Howard edging Hammond, 4-3.
Jimmy Cain pitched five innings to earn the win, allowing two earned runs. Tyler Gormus allowed one run over the last two innings to earn the save.
Chapelgate 7, Sts. Peter and Paul
Defending C Conference champion Chapelgate, still undefeated in conference play, beat Sts. Peter and Paul, 7-4.
Stephen Siggins went 6 2/3 innings, striking out four and allowing three runs. Michael Patton (2/3), Jonathan D'Alessio (1/2) and Joshua Butler (1/1, 2B) all drove in runs for the Yellowjackets.
Glenelg Country 10, Annapolis Area Christian 0
Dylan Farnella pitched a six-inning complete game shut out, striking out seven and allowing one hit, one walk and one hit batter. Farnella helped his own cause by driving in two runs on two hits.
