Deadlocked in a tie game heading to the sixth inning on the road against Marriotts Ridge on Tuesday, Glenelg's Paige Hoeflich came through in the clutch.

Hoeflich delivered the go-ahead run to spark a three-run inning and push the Gladiators to a 5-2 victory over the Mustangs. The win brings Glenelg (3-3) back to .500 overall on the season.

On the day, Hoeflich finished 2-4. Other big offensive efforts for the Gladiators came from Sharon Mielke (2 doubles, 2 RBI) and Toni Pritchard (three hits, double).

Anna Turvin did her part in the pitcher's circle, striking out seven Marriotts Ridge batters and walking none in seven innings.

On the other side, Marriotts Ridge pitcher Romy Lindahl struck out three, walked none and allowed the five runs.

Lindahl (two hits), Isabelle Sala (triple) and Mackenzie Hockensmith (RBI single in fourth inning) were among the offensive standouts for the Mustangs. Hockensmith also had three big catches on the move defensively in the outfield, while catcher Lauren Biro threw out a runner trying to steal.

After losing a couple of tough games at the District V Spring Break Tournament, the Gators got back in the win column on Tuesday.

Emily Lloyd pitched a strong game, striking out seven and allowing just one run in five innings, and the offense produced 16 hits. Holly Daum (4-6, 3 RBI), Carly Clarke (3-5, double, 5 RBI), Breann Smith (3-3, 3 RBI), Hunter Little (2-2, double, 4 RBI) and Anna Bennett (2-5, double, 4 RBI) were all among the team's leaders.

Oakland Mills' lone hit and run came from Emily Yarn.
