Glenelg Country field hockey upsets St. Paul's in overtime

Glenelg Country School ended its regular season Tuesday with a 2-1 overtime upset over St. Paul's School for Girls. St. Paul's is seeded third in the upcoming Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference playoffs. Glenelg Country has the eighth seed in the tournament.

Megan Hooper put Glenelg Country on the scoreboard with 17:43 on the clock. She dribbled into the circle and placed a shot past the St. Paul's goalkeeper.

St. Paul's evened the score with 5:07 left in the half.

Neither team scored in the second half and the game went into overtime.

The Dragons' overtime team of Hooper, Olivia Dwelley, KoKo Etokebe, Tessa More, Erin Jack, Julia Sheehan and goalie Sophia Kalaris played a standout game.

More scored the game-winner on a corner with 4:02 left in overtime. She finished a shot that Sheehan initiated.

Glenelg Country will host an opponent TBD Friday at 3:45 in the first round of the playoffs.
