Glenelg girls lacrosse beats Howard, 12-8, to improve to 8-1 in county

Hannah Doughty and Alayna Pagnotta (three goals each) led Glenelg past Howard, Friday night. Katie Schluederberg (three) and Kendall Wells (two) were Howard's top scorers.

With games left in the regular season, Glenelg is tied with Marriotts Ridge for second place in the Howard County standings. Each team is 8-1.

Glenelg hosts undefeated Mt. Hebron, the county leader, on April 28.

After firing 43 shots but only scoring on 11 against Hammond earlier this week, Wilde Lake worked on improving its shooting efficiency. The effort paid off with a 22-12 win over Long Reach.

Wilde Lake connected on 22 of its 34 shots. Julia Bohse and Tess Kostelec each found the net seven ties. Kostelec also had three assists. Kate Glaros had 10 draw controls and six ground balls.

Long Reach's Lillie Miller led all scorers with nine goals.
