Glenelg Country wins, gets top seed in IAAM B girls lacrosse playoffs

Glenelg Country School upped upped is Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference record to 13-1 with Sunday's 18-7 win over the Institute of Notre Dame.

This is the best Glenelg Country conference record since 2003 when the team was undefeated (6-0-1).

Playoffs:

The MPSSAA girls lacrosse playoffs begin Wed., May 6 at the higher seed. Play dates are May 6, 8, 11 (sectional finals) and 13 (regional finals). The state semifinals are May 16 or 17 and the state finals are May 22 or 23.

Class 4A/3A North (section I): Howard and Reservoir have first-round byes. Both teams see action Friday, May 8 when Howard hosts the winner of Linganore/Tuscrora and Reservoir hosts Westminster.

Class 3A/2A South (section I): Mt. Hebron and Marriotts Ridge have first-round byes. On May 6, Glenelg hosts Winters Mill and Centennial plays at Century. On Friday, May 8, the Glenelg/Winters Mill winner plays at Mt. Hebron and the Centennial/Century winner plays at Marriotts Ridge.

Class 3A/2A South (section II): tholton and River Hill have first-round byes. On May 6, Long Reach plays at Wilde Lake and Hammond plays Northeast-AA at Glen Burnie. On May 8, the Long Reach-Wilde Lake winner plays at Atholton and the Northeast-Hammond winner plays at River Hill.

Class 2A/1A West (section I): Oakland Mills plays at North Carroll May 6.

IAAM B Conference: Glenelg Country School is the top seed and hosts Indian Creek in the quarterfinals, May 5 at 4:30. The conference semifinals are May 7 at 4:30 and the championship is Sunday, May 10 at Gerstell Academy at a time to be determined.

IAAM C Conference: After an opening round bye, Chapelgate plays at Key School Wednesday, May 6 at 4:30. The conference semifinals are May 8 at 4:30 and the championship is Sunday, May 10 at Gerstell Academy at a time to be determined.
