All but three Howard County schools will be competing in the 3A/4A East regional wrestling tournament this weekend, and the county is well represented among the top seeds.
Mt. Hebron senior Jeff Hayden is the top seed at 126 pounds, while Reservoir's Trent Kilcarr (132), Centennial's Austin Kraisser (152) and River Hill's Brady Daniel (182) also earned spots atop the bracket.
River Hill's Matt Shealy (106), Sean Guthier (160) and Brian Kirby (220), and Glenelg's Parker Griffie (138) and Mike Budock (145) earned No. 2 seeds.
The tournament will take place Feb. 27-28 at Northeast (AA) High School.
In the case of weight classes having more than eight wrestlers, No. 8 seeds will face No. 9 seeds, while No. 7 will face No. 10, No. 6 will face No. 11, and No. 5 will face No. 12 in single-elimination pigtails. Wrestlers that don't have pigtails will automatically be placed in the double-elimination bracket.
