Howard PTA Council holds forum on student privacy

The PTA Council of Howard County is holding a Student Privacy and Data Collection Forum Monday, Nov. 4, from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Homewood Center in Ellicott City.

The forum is free and is open to the public, and will feature representatives from the Maryland State Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education, and other experts on student.

Through the forum, parents and the public will have a better understanding of what data is being collected and shared about their children, the impact changes in education policy have on students' privacy, the policies and procedures Howard County schools have in place to protect students' privacy, protections parents and students have under the law and what parents can do to protect students' privacy.
