UberEATS is expanding the number of restaurants in its service in Howard and Anne Arundel counties.
The Wednesday morning announcement more than doubles the number of restaurants included in rideshare company's food ordering and delivery app. More than 100 restaurants are available in the Baltimore area.
As part of the expansion, restaurants like Stan & Joe's Saloon West and Boatyard Bar & Grill in Annapolis, Rudy's Mediterranean Grill in Columbia and Phoenix Emporium in Ellicott City will be available for takeout through the app.
UberEATS is part of a crowded market of services that will deliver food to consumers' doors. Competitor like GrubHub already offer many delivery options in the region.
UberEATS debuted in Los Angeles in 2014 and is currently available in more than 20 U.S. cities. The company charges a flat delivery fee in addition to the cost of the meal. And unlike Uber, there's no surge pricing.
