Take a walk in the jungle at West Friendship [West Friendship]

The classic tale “The Jungle Book” will be performed at West Friendship Elementary on Nov. 17 and 18, at 7 p.m. A collaboration between The Right Theater Co.and the West Friendship Elementary PTA, the delightful story of Mowgli and his jungle friends is sure to dazzle. Tickets are available at the door.
Speaking of talented students at West Friendship Elementary. The Band Musicians of the Month of November include Logan Woo, Pio Kim, Kelly Liu, Presley Carey, Serena Becker, Jaya Shelat, Joshua Lindquist, Max Ritter, George Williamson, Alex Gladstone, Grady Matthews, Boden Pistorio, Hayden Gill, Hannah Rodrigues, Christopher Chung, Alec Royle, Sienna Williams, Anuj Nadkarni and Brett Cumberland.
A beautiful crisp fall day was the backdrop for a fabulous group of wholesome hard-working high school students from Glenelg High School who spent the morning of Oct. 28 washing car windows in Glenelg with the aim of raising funds for class activities. The students, all members of the Student Government Association at Glenelg High cleaned and polished and brought a lot of cheer to folks whom they encountered.
Just a reminder. The fall fairs and festivals continue with the Bazaar of Churches held at the Lisbon Fire House on Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch served up by the Lisbon Ladies Auxiliary and tables loaded with candy, crafts, silent auction, baked goods, Gourmet to Go and the local and famed cheese balls ready for holiday buffets.
The Shrine of St. Anthony, at 12290 Folly Quarter Road, will host a pre-Thanksgiving Mass and dessert reception on Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Shrine chapel. If you would like to donate a pie for the reception, contact the Shrine office at 410-531-2800.
Condolences to the family of John Coll, long associated with West Friendship Volunteer Fire Department, who passed away on Oct. 29. Sincere sympathy to John’s wife Diane and all the family.
