Three local Boy Scout Troop 007 Scouts were honored on Aug. 12 during an Eagle Scout Court of Honor held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Glenwood. Andrew Colangelo, Austen Rohmann and Jeffrey Read were presented official citations of merit from the state of Maryland by special guest Maryland State Senator Gail Bates. Scoutmaster emeritus Eric Bishop officiated the ceremony during which Bates offered comments about the importance of volunteering in the community. Honored guest was Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman who presented the Scouts with commemorative pins with the official seal of Howard County. Colangelo chose Small Miracles Animal Shelter in Ellicott City as beneficiary of his Eagle Scout project. Rohmann’s project benefitted St. Andrew’s Church. Read chose Sharp Dressed Man, a Baltimore non-profit which aims to assist men getting back into the workplace, as the beneficiary of his project. Congratulations to these local Scouts for an outstanding path to Eagle Scout.
