Livestock 4-H Club has a busy spring agenda [West Friendship]

After two missed monthly meetings due to the winter of "cancelled due to inclement weather" scenarios, the members of the West Friendship Livestock 4-H were happy to convene in March.

Project talks on rabbits, sheep, sewing and baking filled the evening's roster. Club members were delighted with the informative talk given by veterinarian Alison Meyer.

Club business also included discussion of the distribution of the blankets club members had made for donation to the children at Johns Hopkins Hospital as one of the club's service projects. New West Friendship Livestock 4-H officers were announced as president Caroline Beall, vice president Jackie Bauer, treasurer Iris Yourick and secretary Austin Johnson. All this good news came from club reporter Eric Fiege.

Congratulations to the talented student musicians at West Friendship Elementary who are busy prepping for the school's annual spring concert, all the while basking in the glory of being named recent April Musicians of the Month. Landon Goonan, Megan Boyce, Hannah Coomber, Ella Walchko, Anna Hebner, Brady Fenlon, Kierstin Delk, Dhruv Garg, Alan Zhao, Rachel Parkent, Lily Eshelman and Luke Whalen have much to "toot their horns about". So too does the entire West Friendship Elementary fifth grade advanced band who performed during the Howard County Solo and Ensemble Festival.

The band members had practiced monthly since last August in preparation for the festival. Band teacher and mentor Amy Syversen reports that the musicians did a "fabulous job".
