The West Friendship Livestock 4-H Club never skips a beat. Even with a multiplicity of canceled meetings due to the frigid weather of winter 2015, the club rallied on with a March meeting in which lots of catch up work was completed.
Projects included talks on rabbits, sheep, sewing and baking. The club service project this year was beautifully sewn blankets made for the youngest patients at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Club officers include president Caroline Beall, vice president Jackie Bauer, treasurer Iris Yourick and secretary Austin Johnson. Club members are already in the throes of discussion and plans for this summer's Howard County Fair.
Congratulations to Bruce Fulton of Woodbine, who was recently selected as the new executive director of Neighbor Ride of Howard County.
"We are pleased to find such a strong candidate to fill the role of executive director," said Neighbor Ride Board president Phyllis Madachy. "As we plan for the growth and expansion of Neighbor Ride, we've got an outstanding team in place to continue to serve Howard County seniors, helping them remain healthy, independent, and connected to the community."
The community is invited to join in welcoming Bruce Fulton and bidding a fond farewell to retiring director, Brad Closs, during a "Hello-Goodbye" celebration, 4-6 p.m., on May 13, at Slayton House in the Village of Wilde Lake.
