Bunnies delight young and old at Bethany UM Church [West Friendship]

The senior citizens who reside at Encore Skilled Nursing facility and the youngest congregants at Bethany United Methodist Church were the delighted recipients of some real live Easter bunnies on April 4.

Thanks to the skilled handlers of the Hare Raisers 4-H Club, who kept the bunnies hidden from the children at Bethany United Methodist until all Easter eggs had been found, the kids at the church egg hunt were thrilled to behold real live bunnies.

For many of the children this was their first opportunity to see and interact with a real rabbit. The Hare Raisers 4-H members then proceeded to Encore where the senior citizens were treated to the sweet spring time bunnies. For the 4-H members, the interaction with the nursing home residents at Encore was a treat for them as well. Local Veterinarian Wendy Feaga, the mentor and leader of the Hare Raisers, counts this annual club program as one of its favorites.
