Glenelg High School presents Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein” March 1-4 and Glenelg Country School will present “Once on this Island,” Feb. 28 and March 1-3. Can’t wait.

Howard County residents are invited to bring kittens and cats to the Animal Medical Hospital in Glenwood for a free spaying, neutering service during the month of March. Interested? Call Nancy Blood, kennel supervisor for Howard County Animal Control at 410-313-2795 to schedule an appointment.

Nora Riley reminds the community that during the Lenten Season, the Lisbon United Methodist Church, at 15875 Frederick Road, will host special services on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. Come out and join the congregation for this series. China Williams, vice president of the Triadelphia Ridge Elementary School PTA wants folks to know that a Meet the Candidates 2018 forum is set for March 6, from 6:15 to 9 p.m. at Linden Hall, 4765 Dorsey Hall Drive, Ellicott City. The evening will include candidates running for governor, lieutenant governor, state’s ttorney, court clerk, register of wills, Orphans Court and central committee with comments from all on what motivated each to run for office, where they stand on the issues and what each candidate hopes to accomplish to help Howard County.

Not to be missed if you are a fan of bargains. The Marriotts Ridge High School Mustang Flea Market is in full gear. The sale, which benefits the vocal and instrumental music programs, is often nicknamed "too big to be called a yard sale.” The large-scale indoor flea market is set for March 3, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Rain or shine, the sale will be brimming with table tops loaded with household and sporting goods, electronics, baby items, clothing, collectibles, tools, toys, seasonal items and all the goodies one associates with a big old flea market. Marriotts Ridge High School is at 12100 Woodford Drive in Marriottsville.

I have a good sense that local antique car enthusiast John Goodman will be part of the crowd headed to the Howard County fairgrounds in West Friendship on March 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. when the Chesapeake Region Antique Automobile Club holds its Antique Car, Truck and Cycle flea market. Other events include an antique vehicle car corral. Free admission and parking.
