Bad weather did nothing to stop the members of the Hare Raisers 4-H Club from taking a tour of each 4-H members rabbit hutch.
While distance, time and frigid temperatures were at play on the night of Jan. 9, club members created a virtual tour by photographing their individual rabbit set ups, forwarding the images to club leader Wendy Feaga and enjoying the results of Feaga's compilation in the form of a power point presentation.
The program included a look at the varied rabbit hutches at the club members farms. An extra large shed capable of holding up to 60 rabbits, a converted horse barn which holds 12 rabbits, a unique tree house which is home to nine rabbits, outside hutches and even basement and garage hutches were all part of the vivid and informative visual program.
One club member creatively constructed a rabbit hutch using large cast-off wooden props from a recently struck drama production set. Lots of shared ideas within the warmth of the 4-H building at the fairgrounds, accompanied by delicious refreshments, made for an informative meeting for all, according to Hare Raisers reporter Danielle Hurd.
