Revealing the mysteries behind the Shroud of Turin [West Friendship]

Considered one of the greatest mysteries of our time, the Shroud of Turin continues to amaze and baffle scientists, doctors, historians, artists and theologians. Scientists cannot explain the source of the image which contains photographic and three-dimensional properties on a cloth which is centuries old. Is this the actual burial cloth of Jesus Christ? Bill Wingard, a speaker for the Shroud, will present the case for authenticity and leave the judging to you. Come see a full-size replica of the Shroud and the photographic negative images that sparked an explosion of scientific interest and debate over a century ago. Free offerings will be accepted during a 5:30 p.m. dinner, followed by Wingard’s talk at 7 p.m. at the Shrine of St. Anthony, 12290 Folly Quarter Road. Call 410-531-2800 to reserve a spot by Feb. 20.
