Spring has come and that means it's yard sale and plant sale time.
On May 2, the Savage Community Association will be selling plants of all varieties, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Great prices and it supports our community. Vendors, make sure you book your spots and buyers mark your calendars.

Gorman Crossing will hold its first-ever Yard Sale in the parking lot on May 9. It starts at 9 a.m. and runs till 1 p.m. Each space is $25.
There is a big celebration at Laurel Woods. Stephanie Geddie won the Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award from the Washington Post and was named Howard County Teacher of the Year. She teaches kindergarten and is the team leader. Jessica McNeill, team leader in fourth grade, was chosen to receive the Teaching It Forward grant from Maryland Teacher of the Year and Hammond High Teacher Jody Zepp.

Hammond High School will have a Night of Improv on May 7. Come out and enjoy a fun nice of anything goes. Cost is $4 students and $5 for adults.
Do you have clothing that you no longer need or want? Do not throw it away, recycle at Guilford Elementary School. Look for the white bin in front of their school. The school will be paid for all clothing collected.
An update on Forest Ridge and the Water Project Challenge. They were only drinking water and using the money saved to donate to people in sub-Sahara part of Africa who struggle to find drinkable water every day. They raised $1,335 with about 90 students and their families participating. What a wonderful project to show children ways to support others around the world.
Hammond Elementary is creating stars out of morning announcements. The students are producing their announcements on TV at the school. Students are learning how to work all sides of the production.
